Football Exercises For Improving Speed Endurance

1. Requirements

Unlimited number of players
3 cones

2. Organisation

Place 3 cones in a line:
Cone A (starting point),
Cone B (20 metres from Cone A),
Cone C (30 metres from Cone A).
Divide the group into two teams and have them stand opposite each other at Cone A and Cone C.

3. Description



Start:
At the whistle, both players, A from Cone A and C from Cone C, start with a sprint.

Objective of Player A:
Player A sprints to Cone B, turns around it briefly, and sprints back to Cone A.

Objective of Player C:
Player C sprints from Cone C and tries to catch up with Player A and tag them before they return to Cone A.

Rotation:
Player C stays with group A, and Player A walks back to group C at a relaxed pace.

4. Coaching and Focus Points

Coaching points
Encourage players to sprint as fast as they can and challenge each other.
Motivate player C to tag the opponent.
Focus on a quick and short turn around Cone B for player A.

Points of attention
This exercise is performed after the warm-up.
Each player does about 4-5 sprints, depending on the size of the group.
For smaller groups: ensure sufficient rest periods between sprints.
